Garasjefestival is an annual three-day festival with two stages held in the village of Reinsvoll, Norway. Bands like Abyssic, Blodhemn and Crest of Darkness have all played there in the past and this year Mork and Bömbers were part of the lineup as well.
The same organizers were also in charge of this concert with two bands held at the same location, but only the small stage was used this time.
The first ones to get on stage were Still Crazy, a band from the city of Gjøvik who played for about one hour some of their own hard rock/heavy metal songs, but also covers which were very well-executed starting with “Holy Diver” by Dio and “God of Thunder” by Kiss, which the audience could sing along to. We also got to hear “Breaking the Law” by Judas Priest and “I” by Black Sabbath, which made it clear that they are big Dio fans. Very good band!
The party kept on going with Hjallarhorn, a band from Oslo formed in 1993 who was put on hold and returned in 2004. The five piece played a set which was a mix of their own songs and some old school Metallica covers. Their riffs are heavy and sometimes fast, making people move even more when playing classics like “Whiplash”, “For Whom The Bell Tolls”, “Creeping Death”, “The Four Horsemen” and “Harvester of Sorrow”.
Don’t miss the festival in 2023 if you’re around the area!
